Fastmail just introduced dedicated desktop apps for Windows and other popular desktop operating systems. Similar Fastmail apps for iOS/iPadOS and Android mobile devices have been available for many months. Just as with the mobile device apps, you can use Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, and Files. If your desktop/laptop PC supports swipes with a touchscreen, you can enable four custom swipes just as on a mobile device (right swipe long/short, left swipe long/short). My laptop PC has a touchscreen and this feature works great on it.
See the Fastmail Blog for more details: https://www.fastmail.com/blog/desktop-app/ Quote:
Offline support is also available for recently viewed messages or all messages, just as on the mobile device app. Fastmail now has a Sync status icon on the top bar - it looks like a cloud - and this shows that the local offline cache is up-to-date with a check mark and that it is updating with the circular arrow symbol.
