YouTube on the YouTube App just got more annoying. More ads and a floating ad thingy that stays after you skip an ad.

Here is a screen shot. There is a hamburger (three vertical dots) on the floater ad the give you the menu shown, My Ad Center has no setting to turn it off. At least you can Dismiss it. Getting tired of more and more in your face ads.

A friend of mine pays to get YouTube ad-free.

I find the ads mainly annoying if they interrupt a video. I watch a lot of travel documentaries on YouTube, if the documentary is well over 10 minutes, the odds are high that it will be interrupted by ads halfway. That is very annoying.

On the other hand, YouTube is a goldmine for discovering new music, retrieving old music videos that are never shown on TV anymore, watching obscure sports games played on the other side of the world, travel videos of even the most "off the beaten track" destinations, ...
So the ads before the video starts, I am not complaining about. The ads halfway a video however are horrible

@Tsunami, Agree on all counts. YouTube has a lot of good videos. Still not worth paying for though in my opinion. Paying does not stop the content provider sponsor takes. I just fast forward over those. I do understand there are many who make a living of of this.

When I am a using Firefox with uBlock Origin ads are blocked. Hope it stays that way. I watch a lot on my cell phone using the YouTube App. At least they provide a skip function if the ad last longer the 5 second. I noted that some ads run up to 3 minutes or more.

I avoid very much to watch anything of YouTube through the mobile app. On a computer, often times when advertisements occupy the viewing before the desired video occurs, a page refresh loads right into the desired video.

Watching YouTube on the App is a immensely annoying and they have found ways to make it worse. I prefer my computer with uBlock Origin installed. No ads. <knock on wood>
