Question Anyone able to get in to Phoenix webmail?

No problems with AOL Phoenix pop3, but just tried to log in to the webmail interface for the first time in I don't know how long, and it gave me the "oops, something zigged when it should have zagged" error message, then kicked me out back to the login page.

I was just curious to see what has become of it, since it seems to have been orphaned and left for dead

Slightly O/T - they seem to have stopped letting people sign up for the pretty new domains they were offering with Phoenix, too - when you click the signup button there now you just get boring old aol.com, no choice

I have no problem logging in at http://mail.aol.com

And we will see what domains they choose to offer in the new "disruptive" mail product AOL has in planning.

One lovely thing about AOL is that don't abandon users lightly.

I still have addresses on Tunome domains that are functioning, and still can receive mail to my Netscape.Net addresses, both long lost projects from AOL.

I don't expect AOL to abandon Phoenix users either, even as the dedicated Project Phoenix bits start to decay.

(And, as I write this, I again think about how awful a name Phoenix was, so grand and pretentious that there was really no way it could not fail to achieve its purpose, the rebirth of AOL. Oh, well.)

This is true. About.me seems pretty dead too, but they're still keeping those mail servers running. I can't complain - it's another free email address
