I've just tested this and it seems to be working fine for me on the AJAX UI. Rob did a big cleanup of the code related to this sort of area a few weeks ago so it's likely the bug was fixed when that was released. If you still see the bug, let us know and we can investigate further.

Thanks! Shouldn't it also remove {SPAM 06.1} from the subject?

Insert Table (Google Chrome)

In the Ajax GUI, there is no facility to insert tables or images.
(This is mentioned in other threads.)

In http://beta.fastmail.fm/mail/ ...
....one can insert tables.
However when using Google Chrome, the table resizing handles do no appear.

When replying to an email that was sent to one of my domains I use the "From when replying: Always Original" but the AJAX interface appears not to use this (or at least it doesn't show it in the interface as an option only my personalities).

Anyone know how to do this in the AJAX interface?
Also how to edit the from address for new emails so they can come from any email address (for my domains)?

These are the ONLY features that I stay with you guys for so I hope it is going to come back before the AJAX interface is complete. Nobody else lets you do this.

It also ignores the Reply attribution field in Options as well. This particular loss in functionality is the primary reason I can't use the beta interface. Without it, I expose my primary address. The truncated dot menus, and insistence on minimizing hotkeys to just those supported in Gmail is also particularly shortsighted. There's also a ton of unnecessary whitespace, which adds additional scrolling; I did borrow the scrolling mailbox folders idea for my custom stylesheet on the current interface though

I mentioned this here and neilj replied above (here. Seems they are under the impression it is fixed but clearly our experience tells us otherwise.

This works for me. Have you tested it recently?

Everything has a keyboard shortcut. What are you missing?

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post; I thought you were saying it wasn't selecting the correct personality, but re-reading it I realise you actually meant for the case when you don't have a personality for the address the message was sent to. Yes, at the moment the beta interface does not support sending from an address which is not a personality.

Thank you for clarifying.

EDIT: Sorry started posting before neilj's reply! Clearly not relevant now!

I did read that and thought you where talking about it getting sent to one of your personalities and the reply coming from your default (not sure why I read it that way) which does work but now I see that your talking about the same as me! It doesn't look like it is even meant to be possible as the old interface allows you to change the sent from to an email address who isn't a personality (kind of create a one of personality using "Person's Name <email@ddre.ss>") and that whole function isn't there now(/yet? ;D)
Hopefully they aren't dropping it and just haven't implemented it yet.
Edit: Which makes sense as I can't see it in the list of "Account preferences" they have implemented:

  • "Keyboard shortcuts"

  • "View HTML"
  • "Default direction"
  • "Time format"
  • "Save new names", with caveat - "Prompt" currently does "always save automatically"
  • "Default compose mode"
  • "When replying" and "When forwarding"
  • "Reply to all mode"
  • "Reply attribution", but recommend you leave blank as the default is the most standard
  • "HTML when responding", with caveat - "As viewed" is determined by content of message and "View HTML" preference, either other option actually means "Use default compose mode preference"
  • "From when replying", with caveat - the "Always default" uses the default personality from the personalities screen, all other options use best guess personality, there's currently no fully custom from address available
  • "Signature for new" and "Signature for reply"
  • "Wrap lines"
  • "Default charset"
We appreciate your time and effort. Thanks for testing!
Marianh
Maybe I should be quiet now! Looks like they haven't added that feature yet.

P.S. Can we bribe you with cookies to implement it? Is there an official Fasmail cookie bribe address? LOL

I think Belgian beer was Jeremy's recommendation, probably that works for Rob and Bron, but we don't know what the Norwegians want.

The "Move to" menu doesn't allow scrolling (in FF at least).
I guess your meant to search at the top to narrow down the list but if your meant to be able to scroll then this doesn't work.

I did love the way you moved stuff in the past by just clicking on the folder on the left. Although this search bar is growing on me with having like 500+ folders! LOL

Beer... That would slow down development! RedBull... Speed em up!

Not sure if you want this reporting but all of the Dilbert emails I get mess up in the AJAX interface. I have copied one into the folder "forwebmaster" if you need an example.
They look fine in the original interface.

This didn't work for me yesterday, nor did it work for me just a few minutes ago when I tried it again.

Delete permanently, redirect, and edit as new, off the top of my head. I use the former much more often than the others. Also, the bigger issue isn't so much that existing shortcuts are missing; it's that those which still exist have mostly been remapped ala Gmail, which makes switching between the two interfaces particularly ornery when one is accustomed to a particular set of keymaps.

Apologies for the weird multi-quotes, but EMD was not properly inserting multi-quotes on replies, so I had to insert these myself.

Another note ,
The "Show Details" and "Hide Details" at the top of each message is visable while the message it's self is hidden (or minimized? - by clicking the header next to the "Show Details" for example).

While in this state you can click the "Show Details" and it will change to "Hide Details" but it doesn't appear to do anything until you unhide the message again and can see that the extra details where added but they where inside the hidden area. Maybe remove this while the header is minimized?

Regards,

Zas

For me the message is always expanded.
However if you click the "inbox" link in the top right hand corner of the message (just under the message date), then the last message in the string roles up. Clicking it again causes the message to expand out again.
