Hidden Folders
I've organised my mail with folders, and hidden them so they only appear if I have new messages. Some, like trash, I've left completely hidden.
In the old interface I can click in the 'search folders' search box, and all my hidden folders appear. In the new interface, I can't make the hidden folder appear, except by changing the folder options. I've been accessing the individual folders via the address bar, but this doesn't work so well if say, I forget that 'Trash' is spelt with a capital. I think the new interface is very smart and fast. Like it a lot. |

The search folder bar is still accessible, but via a keyboard shortcut only: 'g' (as in goto).

![]() I didn't spot this because my hidden folder is the Junk Mail folder, which in the new interface is shown as the Spam folder ie the new interface changes its name. ![]() So when Junk Mail did not re-appear I thought it was not working ![]() This brings me back to my other post about folder name changes... http://www.emaildiscussions.com/show...0&postcount=44 |

I really hope you're not right about the direction these folder names are going. It would make it seem some developer doesn't know what system folder names are for. I suppose they'll take it on themselves to edit all our custom scripts to fix the filing errors? What about plus-addresses which use them, must we go change those addresses whereever they are used? Will the Junk Mail folder be called Spam (incorrect, owned by Hormel) or spam (correct, but the only lowercase system folder).
I guess "it's what most people like" so that's what we'll get eh. |

@Shelded:
Unfortunately, Opera's thinking appears to be "power users be damned; we're implementing what 'most people like' instead (again)." |

Folder sorting
Folder sorting is case sensitive now - unlike the old interface.

Welcome to the EMD Forums, gcrouse!

You are correct if you meant the display sorting of the folder names (set to the same sort level) on the main Mail screen.

Sorting Capitalization
Yes, display sorting of the folder names.
Thanks. |

Reporting non-spam
I see how to report messages as Spam in the AJAX UI, but I can't figure out how to report a message as non-Spam. The old UI has a special "Report Non-Spam" button at the top of the spam folder that removes the spam designation and moves it to the Inbox. In contrast, selecting "Move to Inbox" in the AJAX UI keeps the message marked as Spam. Any hints?

I have noticed this one too and dearly hope they care to fix it.
We need to be able to tell that a wanted email is no spam. |

"Move to Inbox" (or indeed using the "Move to" folder to move the message to any other folder) will automatically report it as non-spam to the bayes database.

I have on a number of occasions replied to an email sent to an alias, only to find out later that my reply was actually sent from my default personality, not the alias to which the original email was sent. Very disappointing and this alone has put me off using the Ajax UI.
ie: the Account Preferences option: From when replying "Best personality" does not always work so I have had to switch the option to: From when replying "Always original" |
