Paid options?
Does anyone know what the future plans are for e-mail when they are out of beta.
What are the paid options going to be? Seems like that they will probably trump the rest of the services out there. I am deciding of whether to upgrade my fastmail account or wait until there is something more definitive with gmail. Thanks. Last edited by hockey_fan3000 : 11 Aug 2004 at 04:06 AM. |

You could be waiting a long time. Google News has been in Beta for longer than I can remember. I am not sure how long Google Groups were in Beta, but it wasn't a short time frame. I hope I am wrong, but Google doesn't move out of Beta that quickly.

As elliotng mentioned above, the basic service will be free. They may, however, offer some additional features (POP) for a fee.

Yeah, I hope they offer IMAP as a paid option. That would be hot. I'd gladly cough up $20/year for that.
