Paid options?

Does anyone know what the future plans are for e-mail when they are out of beta.

What are the paid options going to be?
Seems like that they will probably trump the rest of the services out there.

I am deciding of whether to upgrade my fastmail account or wait until there is something more definitive with gmail.
Thanks.

You could be waiting a long time. Google News has been in Beta for longer than I can remember. I am not sure how long Google Groups were in Beta, but it wasn't a short time frame. I hope I am wrong, but Google doesn't move out of Beta that quickly.

Gmail is free *unless they change that in the future*. I have not heard of any paid options or pricing.

I think hockey fan is talking paying additional fee to get extra features like MSN Premium and Yahoo! Mail Plus. So far, Google hasn't disclosed any paid options about Gmail yet, perhaps we will see when the beta is ended. I wish Gmail will remain free and I don't have to pay extra money

As elliotng mentioned above, the basic service will be free. They may, however, offer some additional features (POP) for a fee.

Yeah, I hope they offer IMAP as a paid option. That would be hot. I'd gladly cough up $20/year for that.
