Google storage space?

I recently heard that google employees are getting 1 terabyte in their google/gmail account, while us *non-google workers only get 1 gigabyte?

Is this true? do google employees actually get more better programs, utilities and stuff from their employer? do they have a google messenger at google (GChat?)

I read the same thing somewhere -that Google employees get 1 terabyte and there was supposedly a glitch for sometime when gmail beta users, like us, would see that they had 1 terabyte instead of 1 gigabyte.
But they fixed that up pretty quick.

They are employees, I'm sure they're getting more features than us. They could be testing out these extra features for Google before releasing it to the beta users.
Only sure way to know if is you know any insiders in Google.

I prefer POP feature. While I don't need the full use of GB, I like the GB there as a security to recieves mails of all sizes.

I voted for ALL of them except the more space option, 1 GB is enough.

I would like to see them flesh out the web application first. The HTML only option, addressbook groups and drafts are all musts, IMHO, before it can be considered finished. Also, some way or other make sure that a given address does NOT go into the spam folder. When they have those, then I'd probably vote for POP/IMAP.

Gmail Storage

I notice that Gmail has a huge storage of 1gig and 1 terabyte, thats all insane, where do they get the harddrive space to run servers that huge to give out so much?!?! I know for commercial use the biggest size harddrive for sale is the max of 500gigs but they are incredibly expensive.

I too voted GChat, i think it would be very neat. And most likely it would be very well made.

IMAP!!

Although I like the uniqueness and unclutter interface of Gmail, I would love to send and receive mails through other mail clients.

I would bet my *** that they know most users are using nowhere near this much space and as they can limit the number of accounts they can limit the space. My bet - the vast amount of space is a marketing poly and this will come down when Gmail goes fully live.

outside this board "instant messenger" is more popular
than imap and would swim in more users.
may eventually dominate over the big 2. imo.

i would really like a "googlemail" domain name! shucks!
