file storage uploads
I can't upload a 12 MB file into my file storage - why not? What can I do about this?

Now, I might be some way behind the times here having not posted for a while, but one of the rationales behind file storage was that one would be able to deal with files larger than the maximum encoded size that one can attach to an email sent from an FM account (7.5mb). Clearly this problem has not been addressed.

Workaround (until they remove the limit) - to receive the message by POPLink and detach a copy of the attachment to File Storage.

This requires me to have the mail in an account that I can pop into doesn't it?

Yes, unless you have a Full/Enhanced FM account.

No, you should use an external account...or just email the file to your FM account.

I don't think that FM will accept a file attachement of that size will it?
