there must be more like me

Hi,
Susan invited me some days ago. Just read about the concern about people harvesting invites and making themselves scarce. Some people are obviously doing that but I suspect a large number like me are hovering. I check this board nearly daily but I haven't posted yet. When I've something to interesting to add or say I'm sure I will. But till then I remain a part of this board, albeit not in an as active role as the rest of you guys. I hope SusanSKF is not as dissapointed now. I do enjoy reading the boards. Its another thing to do daily.

regards,
Raul

That's good...I didn't know Susan had sent you an invite so I was giving her a reminder as I don't personally have any invites left.

Glad to see you're enjoying EMD as the rest of us do.

It is recommended to read a forum/newsgroup for some time before posting.

There is a word meaning "reading but not posting", which isn't "hover"...but I forgot what it is

Purusing perhaps?

I still have invites for those who meet my criteria...

Are we a group of pedants or what?

I didn't use lurking because it has a negative connotation and is not an accurate description of what I was trying to express. Hovering on the other hand is closer to what I meant. As in I was hovering above the board but not landing. Get it?

Lurking - Lie in wait, lie in ambush, behave in a sneaky and secretive manner
-Be about
-Wait in hiding to attack

Hovering - Be undecided about something; waver between conflicting positions or courses of action
-Move to and fro
-Hang in the air; fly or be suspended above

I didn't invent English..but there are many words with more than one meaning, and sometimes some meanings are opposite.

By the way, is the term "hovering" used elsewhere as synonym for "lurking"?
