IMAP Retrieval
I was using the POP retrieval to get mail from an external account for a while. The external account has upgraded and now only supports IMAP. Now my POP settings don't work. Is there a way to retrieve IMAP email from an external account into my Fastmail web interface?

There is a one-time tool for pulling mail from another IMAP account into your Fastmail account, but no ongoing tool such as POP links. The best method is to forward messages from that other account to your Fastmail account.

Forwarding adds headers that hides information about the original message in the folder listing. If you are running Windows you could use the IMAPSize utility to copy mail from one IMAP account to another. The main downside is that you would need to do it periodically while you could probably configure your other account to automatically forward all messages.
http://www.broobles.com/imapsize/ Have you considered using a email client such as Thunderbird or "em client" rather than webmail? Many support the option of either showing each accounts folders separately or in some sort of unified list of folders (you look in one inbox for mail from all accounts etc.). |
