Thunderbird problem

I was hoping someone could help me. When I try to set up my fastmail account in Thunderbird I am unable to get my folders to synchronize. I am setting it up exaclty how is described in the help section. Thanks.

I think this may have to due with your account preferences via the web interface.

Check to see if the Sync to folders is checked and then click save.

Hope this helps

It is checked. I also just installed Thunderbird on my Mac, I usually use Mail, and it worked fine. Very strange.

Could you post a link to the help section?

The "Optional: Sync your Offline Database" section in http://16mail.com/docs/imap/thunderbird3.htm doesn't belong in an article for Thunderbird 3 IMHO. Thunderbird 3.0 and later has a "keep messages for this account on this computer" setting in tools -> account settings -> synchronization & storage. It doesn't depend upon your webmail account settings, just that you have a IMAP account.

The article describes a older feature - how to sync offline folders when you switch to working offline. That should still work, but you're better off using the newer feature because making certain that a feature that they're essentially obsoleting still works will probably be low on their list of priorities.

That option was checked. I tried it checked and unchecked and neither worked. It is just isn't finding any of my folders when I click on Subscribe and then Refresh.

Does tools -> account settings -> synchronization & storage -> advanced list those folders?

Is tools -> account settings -> synchronization & storage -> disk space -> "synchronize all messages locally regardless of age" checked?

If none of that helps you might try 3.1RC2 from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-U...ses/downloads/
