Which site were you referring to? I think you'll find that with most free remotely hosted forums you have to log in every so often to keep it from being deleted (usually about 30 days).
Another option is hosting it yourself, ie opening a web hosting account and having your lbog and forum on your own webspace. One thing to be aware of is although the blogs and forums are free in themselves sometimes you hgave to use a paid web host, however there might be free ones out there, in which case webhostingtalk.com can guide you in the right direction.
