Hi,

Welcome to Emaildiscussions.com, hope you'll like it here. As long as it's about Fastmail this is the forum for it, any other provider should be in the other forums. So, yeah, you hit the right spot.

I don't have a one-size-fits-all answer to this, really. It seems strange that the virus notifications are still coming even with Protection off... Let me get this straight:

1) You have an account at FM, say 'joecitizen@fastmail.fm'.
2) You also have another account, say 'joeblow@example.com'
3) Your example.com account receives the virusnotifications from viruses sent to the FM account.
4) Disabling Virus Protection did not stop the notifications.

As far as I know the notifications should only be sent to your FM account, not the backup address. You can change the backup address in the Account Preferences menu, but I doubt that this is the cause. Could you perhaps have a Rule (Options - Define Rules) that forwards to your other account, which may be triggered by the virus notification?

Hope this helps a bit,
--K
