Embedded images

Probably a daft question, but:
How is it that a spammer was able to embed an image, and it was automatically displayed in the fm app, despite having remote images turned on only for contacts? Should these not been blocked too, or is it because they pose not threat since they’re loaded into the email? Just need clarification please. Thank you

If the image is embedded in the message then it is not a remote image, and so it is not blocked and is displayed. It is part of the email message.

As I thought, thanks for confirming.
But is there no way to block it loading?

Where's that option then?

Why do you care about the image being displayed?

Why do you care why they care?

I'm just curious. The normal reason for preventing the display doesn't apply here

Because it was a spam message which wasn?t caught by the spam filters. It contained one of these extortion bitcoin messages with a pornographic image. I opened it - as it was in my inbox - at the wrong time and it was seen by someone else.
